I am Edward Vesselinov Jivkov
A beginner 3D Modeler and Graphics Designer

Ever since I was little, I have been interested in creative work, and I am currently studying in a Private High School for Multimedia, Computer Graphic Design and Animation in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Much of the works in my porfolio are made while studying here.
Out of all the things I have worked on, 3D Models seem to interest me the most, and since I started studying 3D Modelling and Animation, it has become a passion of mine.
My current plans are to graduate, expand my knowledge in the CGI field by getting an Animation Degree and turning my interest into a career.

3D Models

Vietnam War Helmet

2015

A 3D model of a helmet based on the M1 helmet - a combat helmet that was used by the United States military from World War II until 1985. The helmet has added personal touches from it's wearer – little metal trinkets, a card, a flip lighter and a couple of 7.62 mm Rifle Rounds. The camo pattern used is the infamous Mitchell pattern, which was used heavily during The Vietnam War era.

Handcuffs

2015

A pair of police handcuffs that have become common place in numerous crime movies and shows. The model is an almost 1:1 replica of the BladesUSA 4508-DLB Double Lock Handcuffs with minor differences – the swivels and chain are different and the black metal is swapped out with a more clean chrome finish.

Desk Lamp

2015

A classic, rustic 20th century desk lamp with a photorealistic light bulb. Inspired by Noir films, the desk lamp is the type you would find sitting on some detective’s desk somewhere. The lightbulb was taken from an external source, which can be found here.

Computer Monitors

2016

Models of a pair of military grade CRT Monitors. The off-white colors give the models an old and worn aesthetic. Inspired by 80’s/90’s Cyberpunk.

Saw

2015

A vintage Sadvik hand saw with a rusty and run-down look. The rusty effect is achieved using a Normal Map of the rust texture and the Roughness Map of the metal texture. The Wood wear effects on the handle were created using a Normal Map of the black marble texture.

Lego Pilot

2017

The model is an authentic reproduction of the Lego Series 3 Old Timer Pilot Mini-figure. The base body and head were created with the help of the official Lego Mini-Figure patented technical plans with accurate dimensions. The textures were traced very carefully and accurately from a reference in Adobe Illustrator.

Model of a table complete with two stacked plates, a Pear fruit, a wine bottle and a wine glass, utensils – a knife, a spoon and a fork. Meant to show off what the powerful cloth physics in 3ds Max can do.

Glock-17 Pistol

2017

A model of a standard issue Glock-17 made by Glock Ges.m.b.H, a staple of any action film or video game, the Glock has a simple, effective design and is instantly recognizable. The main reference for the model comes from the official Glock Website that happens to have a 360 panorama of the gun.

Bicycle Frame

2015

A 2D AutoCAD drawing of a bike frame created using basic drawing components such as: Line, Circle, Arc, Spline Fit and Polygons. A fillet is used at some points: On the Seat Post and Seat Collar, Bottom Bracket Shell, and the Rear Derailleur.

Guitar

2016

A fully 3D AutoCAD Drawing of an Acoustic Guitar complete with strings. Conceived using simple drawing elements, namely Circles, Lines, Ellipses, Rectangles, and Polylines. A lot of modifiers are also used: Trim, Mirror, Offset, Extrude, Subtract, Union and Fillet.

Graphic Design

2016 Graduation Poster

2016

A Poster made for a school contest. The goal of the contest was to make a poster to send off the high school graduates and wish them well. The poster was among the winners and was hanged in the school corridors. Later it was moved to the school’s administration office and remains there to this day.

Vice Poster

2016

A collage of existing artwork and elements meant to replicate the infamous Loading Screens from the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with a little spin – the postcard look. The background leaves were created using a mix of Adobe Photoshop Gradient Maps and Blend Modes. The artwork used is as follows: Tommy Vercetti by PatrickBrown, Text by Michael Douglas.

Neon Poster

2016

A collage poster that represents the neo-tokyo art style, combined with a black silhouette in the middle, giving the background a more seliant accent. The background pictured is a popular street in Kowloon, Hong Kong named Portland Street. The images and clip art used were edited using Adobe Photoshop’s Gradient Maps.

Video game poster for the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt made using existing high quality renders released by the game developers – CD PROJEKT RED.

Black Waves Poster

2015

A stylized black and white poster meant to replicate the aesthetic of monochrome comic books. The poster, like many black and white works, focuses heavily on contrast. The waves are a pen and ink on paper drawing called The Sea/Fado 2.1 created by Johan Grönlund. The border was achieved with the use of basic raster shapes and Blending Modes.

Gestalt logo “Peak”

A Logo for a fictional outdoor gear and apparel company. Created with basic polygon raster shapes in Adobe Photoshop. The mist was conceived using the Photoshop Filter Render Clouds and Overlay Blend Mode. The text is gradient mapped and uses the ISOCTEUR font.

A concept website made for my father’s company. The site’s background is an edited version of a free black polygon vector background by Vectorss. The logo was designed using raster shapes in Adobe Photoshop.

Techsmart

2016

A concept website for a specialized hypermarket that sells electronic appliances and all things technology. The website uses elements from real electric appliance stores namely Technopolis. The front page is occupied with promotions – the top section is for big promotions and deals and the bottom one is for minor ones. Both are dynamic and have an auto-scroll, which shows all of the current sales.
The Logo was created using Adobe Illustrator and the images used were touched up using Adobe Photoshop.
